Human Resources Generalist (Raleigh, NC)
We are looking for a part-time (30 hours) HR Generalist (6 hours M-F) to handle the following Human Resource duties for our growing firm:

  • Perform all aspects of benefits administration including enrollments and changes, COBRA administration, account reconciliation, invoice reconciliation, and reporting to third parties
  • Conduct new employee orientations to obtain new hire documents and paperwork, conduct reference checks, coordinate pre-employment drug testing, and perform all duties associated with hiring to include offer letters, e-Verify, orientations, and update of internal records
  • Maintain employee files and address informational requirements as needed
  • Assist supervisors with the annual appraisal process; maintain salary histories and update accounting records with salary increases
  • Track various employee-related statistics as requested by corporate headquarters throughout the year
  • Update Employee manual and Safety manual as needed
  • Assist department in carrying out various human resource programs & procedures for all company employees
  • Some experience in dealing with employee relations preferred

Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree plus 2-3 years related experience in human resources
  • PHR or SPHR Certification is preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of federal and North Carolina employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication, administration, and data analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Growing Consulting Engineering firm serving electric utilities is seeking a Protective Relay Project Engineer to join our team.

Position requirements include:

  • Design of protection & control systems for utility-class electrical substations
  • Preparation of specifications & drawings for protection & control systems & major equipment
  • Calculation of fault currents & relay settings
  • Development of digital relay logic
  • Calibration, testing & programming of protective relays
  • Functional testing protection & control systems
  • SCADA design experience
  • Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 year’s experience

Distribution Engineer (Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC and Baltimore, MD) 
We are an engineering firm that specializes in providing a full range of engineering and project management services to the electric utility industry. Currently we are looking for a qualified and experienced Distribution Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and monitor Distribution Project Scopes, Proposals, Budgets, and Schedules
  • Manage assigned projects including coordinating efforts between different departments, contractors and sub-contractors. 
  • Design overhead and underground Distribution Lines (4 kV to 35 kV)
  • Perform and or Provide assistance as needed with Material Acquisition and Management, including:

- Technical Specifications, Recapitulation, Bidding, Drawing Review, Delivery Schedule, Inventory, etc.
- Provide support to client and construction crews during construction

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering with four (4) plus years of engineering experience or a comparable Associate's Degree with six (6) plus years of engineering experience
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the electric utility industry
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in distribution line design and review
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project and Outlook).

    Preferences:
    Experience with RUS Distribution Design Standards
    Experience with RUS Construction Units, both overhead and underground
    Experience with RUS Work Order Inspection process
    Experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
    Experience with Distribution Line Staking Software (StakeOut, Partner. . .)

Engineer / Senior Engineer - Gas Engineering Division (Baltimore, MD) 

Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in Engineering required. Professional Engineer License in good standing with ability to obtain multi-state registration.                                                                     

Growing Consulting Engineering firm serving utility industry is seeking Engineer / Senior Engineer within the Gas Division to provide engineering expertise in natural gas distribution systems and technical expertise to solve design problems under minimum supervision. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Position requirements include:

Knowledge and expertise of DOT 192, ASME and local jurisdiction natural gas requirements. Participate in preparation and administration of client construction contracts.

  • Experience in system modeling, system reliability and growth planning required.
  • Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of gas pipeline design and/or re-design projects.
  • Complete studies, perform analysis and make recommendations to support gas customer system operations, construction, and maintenance groups.
  • Contribute to team decision-making in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
  • Experience in retrofitting pipelines to accommodate modern maintenance automation.
  • Experience in designing remote control shut off valves
  • Plastic and steel pipe experience
  • Experience with gas facility stations – metering, regulator stations, flow control

Work with minimal supervision and executes projects assigned to them.

Participate in the design and evaluation of Client distribution pipelines to ensure that the needs of the Client are met in the most economical and effective manner.

Participate in main and service design using AutoCAD and/or other design tools.

Create engineering plans, specifications, and equipment for utility projects.

Professional Engineer License in good standing with ability to obtain multi-state registration.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Must interface well with employees and clients at all levels.
